1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Quesadillas

4 medium flour tortillas
Butter or cooking spray for skillet

Optional Toppings

Powdered sugar
Maple syrup
Whipped cream
Extra cinnamon apples

Equipment

  • Medium skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spoon or spatula for spreading

Method

  1. Peel and dice the apples into small, even pieces so they cook evenly.
  2. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. Cook the apples for 5-7 minutes until tender and coated with a cinnamon glaze.
  4. Mix softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  5. Spread the cheesecake filling over one side of each tortilla, leaving space around the edges.
  6. Add the cinnamon apples over the cheesecake layer and fold each tortilla in half.
  7. Cook the quesadillas in a skillet over medium-low heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  8. Rest the quesadillas for 1-2 minutes, then slice into wedges and serve with toppings.

Chef’s Notes

  • * Use firm apples like Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith for the best texture.
  • * Let cooked apples cool slightly before assembling to prevent soggy tortillas.
  • * Avoid overfilling the tortillas because the cheesecake filling can leak while cooking.
  • * Reheat leftovers in a skillet or air fryer to restore crispness.
  • * Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
